We sat down for a quick chat with one of our NuFlow Certified Contractors to learn more about what makes NuFlow work for him.

Jeff Lane is the owner and operator of King Rooter & Plumbing in Denver, CO. He has been working in the plumbing industry since 1998 and opened his own company in 2006. He became a NuFlow Certified Contractor in January of 2019.

Q: Why did you become a NuFlow Certified Contractor?

A: I had a NuFlow flyer sitting on my desk for probably 3 years, but I never looked into it. We were keeping busy and I didn’t have a lot of knowledge about it. Then we got a call from a big company, it was a credit card processing plant. The building was having a ton of backups, so we went out to look at it. The pipes were located under concrete floors and they had millions of dollars of machinery spread throughout the warehouse, so busting up the floor wasn’t an option. I remembered that flyer that was still sitting on my desk, so I decided to call.

NuFlow talked me through the start up and gave me the words of wisdom that I needed. I looked at some of the other companies also. I asked some friends that worked with other lining companies – they all said they had issues with management. I wouldn’t have dropped that much money with a company I didn’t trust. So, we signed up with NuFlow, pitched the lining process to the credit card company, and we won the job.

Q: How easy was it to get started?

A: Easy! As a master plumber I already had a lot of experience and understand the systems, so adapting to lining was very quick. We went through our training with Mike and Josh. Then they flew out to the job site and did the first half of the job with us – we did the second half on our own.

Literally, I made my money back on the first job, and then some. That’s no joke.

Q: What has changed about your business since becoming a NuFlow Certified Contractor?

A: Pipe lining is a HUGE part of my business. We only dig up about 10% of sewer jobs now, only if we absolutely have to. Lining is at least 70% of my business.

Right now, we have a lining crew with 5 people. And I just bought CCUV, so we are going to be adding a crew for that – a blue crew and a UV crew. I’m planning on going bigger too. Hoping to have 3 crews by this time next year.

It really was a game changer for us. We did almost a million dollars in lining in the first year. It carried me during the pandemic.

Q: Would you recommend NuFlow to others?

A: Ha! I already recommended it… I brought others into the industry! But seriously, NuFlow’s service, training, and support are super important. I call the guys every time we have a question. If I don’t know something, I am going to call them – probably bug them too much!

Q: What would you say to someone considering becoming a NuFlow Certified Contractor?

A: Get your guys out of the trenches and make yourself more profitable!
